100% in your browser — nothing you enter leaves your device.
How to create an email QR code
- Enter the email address the message should go to.
- Optionally add a subject line and a pre-filled message body.
- The QR code updates instantly — generated only in your browser.
- Download it as PNG or SVG and place it wherever you want people to reach you.
What is an email QR code?
An email QR code encodes a mailto link — the same kind of link that, on a web page, opens a new email when clicked. When a phone camera reads the code, the device launches its mail app with your address already filled in, plus an optional subject and message. It turns "email us at…" into a single scan, removing the need for anyone to copy an address by hand or risk a typo that bounces their message.
Where an email QR code is useful
Email codes shine anywhere you want to capture enquiries offline. Print one on a flyer or poster so passers-by can reach you without typing; add it to a shop counter or table tent for feedback and bookings; put it on a product package so customers can request support; or drop it into a slide deck so an audience can email questions during a talk. A pre-filled subject like "Workshop enquiry" also helps you sort incoming mail, because every scan arrives labelled the same way.
PNG or SVG for an email code
Pick the PNG for digital use — email footers, web pages, social graphics — where a fixed-resolution image is convenient. Pick the SVG whenever the code will be printed at an unknown or large size, because as a vector it stays sharp on everything from a business card to an A1 poster. In short: PNG for screens, SVG for print.

Frequently asked questions
- Is my email address or message uploaded anywhere?
- No. The email QR code is built entirely in your browser with JavaScript. The address, subject and message you type never leave your device and are never sent to any server.
- What happens when someone scans an email QR code?
- Their phone opens its default mail app with a new message already addressed to you — and, if you filled them in, the subject line and body pre-populated. The person just adds their words and taps send.
- Do I have to include a subject and message?
- No. Only the email address is required. Subject and message are optional — leave them blank for a plain “new email to this address” code, or fill them in to guide the sender with a ready-made subject line.
- Does an email QR code expire?
- No. It is a static image that encodes a mailto link directly, so it works forever with no account, redirect or subscription. Even if this site goes away, existing codes keep working.
- Can I print it on a flyer or poster?
- Yes. Download the SVG so the code stays sharp at large sizes for posters, flyers, shop signs or table tents; use the PNG for digital placement. Test the printed code with your own phone before distributing it.
- Should I download the PNG or the SVG?
- PNG is a ready-to-use image for websites, email footers and social posts. SVG is a vector that scales cleanly to any print size — choose it for signage and printed marketing material.
- Is there any tracking on the code?
- No. The mailto link is baked straight into the image — there is no redirect service, no analytics pixel and no scan counter. Scanning opens the sender’s own mail app directly.
